Binge-specific things to know

Binge subscriptions can work differently depending on your plan or how you signed up. These tips cover common edge cases.

Telco bundles work differently
If Binge came with your Telstra or Optus plan, you'll need to contact your provider directly to cancel or modify the bundle.
Your watchlist is saved
After cancellation, your watchlist and viewing history are retained if you decide to resubscribe later with the same account.
Multiple subscription tiers available
Binge offers Basic, Standard, and Premium plans. Make sure you're cancelling the right tier if you have multiple subscriptions.

Before you cancel, keep this in mind

These details can affect your cancellation timing or whether it goes through properly.

1. Check who's actually billing you

Look at your bank statement to see if you're charged by Binge directly, Apple, Google, or your telco provider. This determines where you need to cancel.

2. You keep access until billing period ends

After cancelling, you can still watch Binge until your current subscription period expires. You won't be charged again after that.

3. Deleting the app doesn't cancel

Removing the Binge app from your phone doesn't cancel your subscription. You need to cancel through your account settings or billing provider.

Consider these alternatives

If you're mainly concerned about cost or usage, you might be able to downgrade or pause instead of cancelling completely.

Downgrade to a cheaper Binge plan

If Premium is too expensive, consider switching to Standard or Basic plans with lower monthly costs.

  • Basic - $10/month, 1 screen, standard definition

  • Standard - $16/month, 2 screens, high definition

  • Premium - $22/month, 4 screens, 4K ultra HD

Pause your Binge subscription

Binge allows you to pause your subscription for up to 6 months. This can be helpful if you're traveling or want to take a break without losing your account settings.

Switch Your Billing Cycle

Binge occasionally offers discounts on longer-term subscriptions or promotional rates for new users.

Check for any available promotions in your account settings before cancelling.

Share Your Plan

Binge Premium allows up to 4 simultaneous streams, so you could split the cost with family or friends to make it more affordable.

Check for Bundles

Binge is often bundled with Telstra and Optus mobile or internet plans, which can provide better value than standalone subscriptions.

  • Telstra postpaid mobile plans (often included)

  • Optus mobile plans (promotional periods)

  • Various internet provider partnerships

Alternative ways to cancel Binge

If you can't cancel through your Binge account, you may need to go through app stores or your telco provider. The right option depends on how you're being billed.
