iHeartRadio-specific things to know

iHeartRadio subscriptions can work differently depending on your plan or how you signed up. These tips cover common edge cases.

Free tier remains available after cancelling
You can continue using iHeartRadio's free ad-supported service even after cancelling your premium subscription. Your playlists and favorites are saved.
Check for carrier billing
Some mobile carriers include iHeartRadio in their plans. If you don't see billing in your iHeartRadio account, check with your phone provider.
Annual plans charge separately
If you have an annual subscription, the full year's fee may have already been charged. Check your plan type before cancelling to understand refund eligibility.

Before you cancel, keep this in mind

These details can affect your cancellation timing or whether it goes through properly.

1. Check who's actually billing you

Look at your credit card or bank statement to see if iHeartRadio is charging you directly, or if it's coming through Apple, Google, or your phone carrier.

2. Access continues until billing period ends

After cancelling, you'll keep your premium features until your current subscription period expires. The cancellation prevents future charges.

3. Deleting the app doesn't cancel

Removing the iHeartRadio app from your phone doesn't cancel your subscription. You'll continue being charged unless you follow the proper cancellation steps.

Consider these alternatives

If cost is the issue, you might be able to downgrade or switch billing cycles instead of cancelling completely.

Downgrade your iHeartRadio plan

iHeartRadio offers different subscription tiers. You might find a cheaper plan that still meets your needs.

  • iHeartRadio Plus - Unlimited skips and replays

  • iHeartRadio All Access - Plus offline downloads

Switch Your Billing Cycle

Check for Bundles
