How to Cancel Global Entry Online

These steps work for pending applications. Active members need to contact CBP directly since there's no online cancellation for approved memberships.

01

Log in to TTP website

Go to the Trusted Traveler Programs website and sign in with the same account you used to apply for Global Entry.

02

Access your application dashboard

Once logged in, you'll see your Application Status page showing your current Global Entry application and its status.

03

Find the withdraw option

Look for a Withdraw Application button or link next to your pending Global Entry application. This option only appears for applications that haven't been approved yet.

04

Confirm withdrawal

Click Withdraw Application and confirm your decision. The system will ask you to verify that you want to cancel your Global Entry application.

05

Check for confirmation

Your application status should update to show Withdrawn. You may receive a confirmation email, though this isn't guaranteed for all withdrawals.

Global Entry-specific things to know

Global Entry has unique rules around cancellation timing and refunds that differ from typical subscription services.

Withdrawal only works for pending applications
You can only withdraw online if your application hasn't been conditionally approved yet. Once approved, you must contact CBP directly to terminate membership.
Refunds depend on application stage
You may get a full refund if you withdraw before conditional approval. After approval or interview, refunds are rare and require special circumstances.
No-show interviews don't auto-cancel
If you're conditionally approved and scheduled for an interview, simply not showing up doesn't automatically cancel your application. You should formally withdraw.

Before you cancel, keep this in mind

These details can help you decide if cancelling is really the right choice for your situation.

1. Consider the wait times

Global Entry applications currently take 8-12 months to process. If you cancel now, you'll go to the back of the line if you reapply later.

2. Check if you can reschedule your interview

If location or timing is the issue, you might be able to reschedule your interview to a different location or date rather than cancelling entirely.

3. Your TSA PreCheck benefits expire too

Global Entry includes TSA PreCheck benefits. Cancelling means losing both programs, even if you only intended to cancel one.

Other options to consider

Depending on why you want to cancel, these alternatives might work better than withdrawing your application completely.

More ways to cancel

If you can't withdraw online, these methods work for both pending applications and active memberships.
