Many Airalo users buy one-time eSIMs that don't require cancellation, but some plans auto-renew. If your plan has auto-renewal enabled, you'll need to disable it to avoid future charges.

Cancel Your Airalo Subscription

These steps work for recurring Airalo plans. One-time eSIM purchases don't need cancellation - they simply expire.

01

Open the Airalo app

Launch the Airalo app on your device and make sure you're logged into your account.

02

Go to My eSIMs

Tap on My eSIMs from the bottom navigation menu to see all your active and expired plans.

03

Select your recurring plan

Find the plan with auto-renewal enabled and tap on it to open the plan details.

04

Turn off auto-renewal

Look for the Auto-renewal toggle and switch it off. You'll see a confirmation message.

05

Verify cancellation

Check that auto-renewal is disabled in your plan details. You'll continue to have service until your current period ends.

Airalo-specific things to know

eSIM plans work differently than traditional phone contracts. These tips cover common Airalo billing scenarios.

Most plans are one-time purchases
The majority of Airalo eSIMs are single purchases that expire after the data is used or time limit reached. Only some plans have auto-renewal.
Check for upcoming renewals
Auto-renewable plans typically renew 24-48 hours before expiration. Turn off renewal at least 3 days early to be safe.
Unused data doesn't carry over
When you cancel auto-renewal, any unused data from your current plan will expire at the end of the billing period.

Before you cancel, keep this in mind

These details can help you avoid issues with your Airalo cancellation or unexpected charges.

1. Your eSIM stays active until expiration

Cancelling auto-renewal doesn't immediately disable your eSIM. You'll keep your data connection until the current plan period ends.

2. Refunds are generally not available

Airalo typically doesn't offer refunds for eSIM purchases, even if you cancel auto-renewal early. Check their refund policy before purchasing.

3. Deleting the app doesn't cancel anything

Removing the Airalo app from your phone won't stop auto-renewals. You must disable renewal through the app or website first.

Other options to consider

If you're cancelling because of cost or data needs, these alternatives might work better than cancelling completely.

Switch to a smaller data plan

Airalo offers various data sizes for the same destinations. You might find a plan that better matches your usage.

Plans typically range from 1GB to 20GB+ depending on the destination:

  • Light users: 1-3GB plans

  • Regular users: 5-10GB plans

  • Heavy users: 15GB+ plans

Switch Your Billing Cycle

Some Airalo plans offer better value with longer validity periods instead of auto-renewal.

30-day plans vs 90-day plans can offer 15-25% better value per GB

Check for Bundles

Airalo offers regional eSIMs that work across multiple countries, which can be more cost-effective than individual country plans.

  • Europe regional eSIMs

  • Asia-Pacific regional plans

  • Caribbean regional coverage

  • Global eSIM plans
